Every week I sort through dozens of local auctions and hand-pick the 10 auctions I think are most worth your time. This list is based on my personal top 10 picks as a full time reseller in Kansas City. All of these auctions will be within about a 50 mile radius of downtown KC with rare exceptions for exceptional auctions. Occasionally I will also be including an estate sale if it looks really good but there is a strong bias towards auctions on this list.
🥇 #1 – The Hughes Historical & Military Collection Auction
📍 St. Joseph, MO | Ends: June 27
Grade: A+
Why it made the list:
Over 1000 high value antique items. Some tools, furniture, and household items in there but the real meat is in all of the historic antiques. Probably best for ebay resellers. Appears to be an antique dealer who is liquidating his estate. Ends shortly after this list gets published but hopefully you will still have time to check it out.
🥈 #2 – Oldham Consignment Auction
📍 Bates City, MO | Ends: July 7
Grade: A-
Why it made the list:
Can’t miss if you are into antique weaponry. Tons of really cool military stuff but if you aren’t into that, this one probably is a skip. Also Oldham always has had great staff and service.
🥉 #3 – Griffin Real Estate and Auction (Part 1)
📍 Cottonwood Falls, KS | Ends: July 13
Grade: B+
Why it made the list:
Huge estate for any treasure hunter out there. This is only part one and part 2 is the next day. Probably worth the trip if you are interested in both parts of the auction.
#4 – Griffin Real Estate and Auction (Part 2)
📍 Cottonwood Falls, KS | Ends: July 14
Grade: B
Even more from the estate in part 2. Great way to double up on treasures.
#5 – Mike & Lynne Teeter Estate
📍 Gladstone, MO | Ends: July 14
Grade: A-
Not a lot of antiques or “treasures” but a lot of great tools and outdoor stuff. If you work with your hands you will want to give this one a look. I will personally be attending this one for sure.
#6 – Agriculture & Construction Equipment Auction
📍 Wichita, KS | Ends: July 7
Grade: C+
Probably don’t attend unless you have a trailer and some man power but this one has some great heavy equipment and cars/trucks that will probably be going for well below market value. Also its out in Wichita.
#7 – CAB Auction House
📍 Lamar, KS | Ends: July 1
Grade: C+
Ugly photos, but good treasures in this one. Worth checking out especially if you’re nearby.
#8 – Blue Springs Marine Liquidation
📍 Blue Springs, MO | Ends: July 14
Grade: B-
Looks to be a boating company that is being liquidated. Lots of good professional equipment and tools in this one. I will probably be going to this one personally.
#9 – Clara and Co Auctions LLC
📍 St. Joseph, MO | Ends: July 13
Grade: B
Not a lot of “fun” stuff but tons of good stuff for resellers. Full company liquidation in St. Joe. This one is a money maker but not much more than that.
#10 – The Brady Estate Auction
📍 Topeka, KS | Ends: July 9
Grade: B-
Good selection over 500 items. Mostly antiques. Not ranked higher because I feel like there is a lot of lower value junk in this one. But still good enough to make the list. Ill be stopping by this one if im in the area but probably won’t make a trip for it.
